The food was nothing special, my beef brisket was greasy my wife's barbecue sandwich had dry meat in it. The coleslaw was delicious and the chocolate cake was really really good. Unfortunately they let me finish up with an empty coffee cup. Sure could have used some coffee to go with that cake
Fantastic meal, terrific service. I had country fried steak which out west we call chicken fried steak. Best I have ever had. Sig other had catfish Cole slaw and grits every thing was spectacular!! I highly recommend. Do not miss this if in the area.
Meatloaf sandwich was amazing. Tender, flavorful meatloaf slice on top of mashed potatoes and toast with creamy gravy and a side of homemade collards- it doesn't get any better tjan this. Unless of course, you add a huge slice of moist, sweet Southern Surrender- best chocolate cake ever! I will always stop here when driving by. Not to be missed! Tip: best to reserve a table online beforehand, especially in the winter season due to snowbirds.
I cannot believe I have been driving this route my whole life and eating fast food instead of stopping in at Miz Kathi's. No More. I will always plan my drives north & south to include a lunch stop at this fabulous cafe that feels like going back in time to your very Southern family home that you carry in your heart always. There's the old family silver, the lace, cake plates, mason jars, tablecloths, aprons, antiques, and the most amazing home cooking. Melt-in-your-mouth Meatloaf Sandwich, Tarnation Tomatoes, Southern Surrender cake were this trip's delights-narry a crumb left anywhere! I can's wait to get back for more of Kathi's southern home cooking. Remember: Check out Kathi's lushly decorated powder rooms for a visual, nostalgic treat. Oh, and if you're traveling during the Florida winter migration season, better make a reservation online.
The food was fabulous! Service excellent! We had never had sweet potato soup. Very good! Will go back again when we are in the area!
